【可算名詞 vs 不可算名詞】「a」と「s」で迷わない！日本人向け間違いやすい名詞50選
日本語には冠詞（a/the）も複数形（-s）もありません。だから an advice、informations、furnitures というミスが生まれます。英語で「数えられるか数えられないか」を理解して、これらの間違いを一掃しましょう。

日本人にとって難しい理由
日本語では「アドバイス」も「情報」も「家具」も、数を数えるときは助数詞（1件の、1点の、1脚の）を使うだけで、名詞そのものは変化しません。英語では可算名詞（countable）は a/an と -s が必要ですが、不可算名詞（uncountable）はどちらも使えません。この「区別」が日本人の壁です。

a piece of で数える方法
不可算名詞を数えるときは、日本語の「1つ」「1枚」「1個」に相当する「容器・単位」の言葉を使います。英語の代表格が a piece of です。
