Free English quizzes for teachers to assign

PromGee's grammar quizzes are free, need no student accounts, and can be assigned in Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams with one link.

Every quiz and exercise page below has an “Assign this quiz to your class” box under the questions with three buttons: Share to Classroom, Share to Teams and Copy link.

Exercise pages (no daily limit)

Grammar rules with interactive questions, instant answer checking and explanations. Best for a whole class working at the same time.

Level test and verb practice (no daily limit)

Timed quizzes (10 per day per connection)

10 questions, a 3-minute timer and an explanation for each answer. Students who share a school network share the daily allowance, so these work best as homework.

Questions from teachers

Do students need an account or login?

No. Students open the link and start. They do not sign up, log in, pay or enter a name or email address to use the free quizzes, exercises, level test or irregular verbs practice.

Is there a limit when a whole class takes a quiz?

The four timed quizzes allow 10 attempts per day per internet connection, shared across all four topics and reset at midnight UTC. Students on the same school network usually share one connection, so for a whole class at school assign the exercise pages, the level test or the irregular verbs practice, which have no daily limit, or set the timed quiz as homework.

Can I see my students' scores?

No. PromGee has no teacher dashboard and does not report scores to teachers. Each student sees their own score and explanations on screen, so ask students to send you a screenshot or type their score into the assignment.

What language are the questions in?

The timed quizzes serve English questions and explanations. The level test and the irregular verbs practice are available in all 14 site languages, and many exercise pages have versions for speakers of other languages. Example sentences are always in English.

Are the quizzes free?

Yes. All the quizzes and exercises listed on this page are free to use.
