“read” की spelling कभी नहीं बदलती, इसलिए “readed” गलत है। सिर्फ़ उच्चारण बदलता है: present में /riːd/ और past में /red/।

past का उच्चारण “red” जैसा होता है, फिर भी उसकी spelling “read” ही रहती है। “red” का अर्थ लाल रंग है।
